Hawkbit's FTP works with the "File Transfer Protocol" (FTP) instead of the more familiar "Hypertext Transfer Protocol" (HTTP) for downloading data-files from the Internet. The FTP method was chosen because this is the most effective, most reliable and fastest Internet service for file exchange.
The easiest way to access Hawkbit's FTP: go to ftp://hawkbit.de (no http:// no www.) with your webbrowser   You will see a list of the currently downloadable files. Just do the "right-click" method to get the files thatyou want on your harddisk. Don't pay attention to the subfolder "incoming" - it does not contain downloadable stuff.
As soon as new files are available for download from Hawkbit's FTP, you will find a corresponding message on the the homepage of Pro Vivian or on the Collecting Vivian forum of Cherrytea - so check this board regularly.    
The downloadable files will be kept for a reasonable period (a week or so) since Hawkbit's FTP area is limited by size and providing new files will require old files to be deleted first.
Some more experienced people may prefere to use a special program for FTP instead of a webbrowser, eg. FTP clients like WS_FTP oe Cute FTP. The data you need to configure an account to Hawkbit's FTP are:
